Living in Canada
Many people in the world are wondering why Canada is a good place to live in. That is to say, Canada is one of the top 10 countries in the world, and three of the best cities in the world (e.g. Vancouver, Toronto, and Calgary) are located in this country. There are many factors due to which this country is ranked among the world’s top 10 countries, such as its environment, powerful economy, safety, climate, health care, multiculturalism, international education, and transportation. However, it is always important to a financial plan and manage your expenses. By managing your money you can reach your goals easier and faster even though you are living in a foreign country with a different life style.
Rental Expenses
Rental expenses are one of the most important issues in Canada as you obviously need a place to live in while you’re studying. The amount of rental fee varies between approximately $400 to $1,200 per month. By finding a smaller place to live in, you can save on your rental fee which you must pay every month. However, all these depend on your budget.
Transportation Expenses
By using public transportation (e.g. buses, sky train…) you can get to your destination easier and faster. Of course, you can always buy a car while you’re studying, but that’s not really the best way. It is financially wise to use the public transportation in Canada, for which you can purchase monthly tickets that are more common. You can buy your monthly ticket or monthly pas for $45 to $200 depending on where you live.
Food Expenses
Food is one of the most affordable things in Canada if you cook at home. You can allocate an average amount of $200-$400 per month to buying food. However, eating at restaurants is not really economical.
Other Expenses
There are also some other expenses that you may want to predict in your financial planning. Here is a list of some other approximate monthly expenses : utilities $40 to $60, health care $80 to $100 and cell phones $40 to $80 per month.
